Wild card Kessler upsets Wang, into Cleveland quarter-finals
McCartney Kessler beat Xinyu Wang in three sets on Wednesday and will face Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus in the next round.

Wildcard McCartney Kessler advanced to the quarter-finals of the Cleveland Open by winning against Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 4 seed, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 at Jacobs Pavilion on Wednesday.
Kessler, ranked No 98, will face Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus next.
Ahead of her victory, the American edged out wildcard Katrina Scott (6-1, 4-6, 6-4).
Wang, ranked No 37, beat Russian Anna Blinkova (6-1, 6-1) in the previous round of the Cleveland tournament.
