Beatriz Haddad Maia picked up a straight-set win over Viktorija Golubic on Tuesday in Cleveland. She’ll play Spaniard Cristina Bucsa in the next round.

Beatriz Haddad Maia, the top seed, ousted Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic 6-3, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Cleveland Open at Jacobs Pavilion on Tuesday night.

The Brazilian had previously been 0-4 lifetime in the head-to-head series against Golubic.

Haddad Maia, ranked No 23, will play Spaniard Cristina Bucsa next.
