Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan won against Belgian lucky loser Greet Minnen 7-6 (3), 6-3 to advance to the last 8 of the Cleveland Open at Jacobs Pavilion on Wednesday evening.
Bogdan, ranked No 103, will play Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Romanian defeated Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the second seed (1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2).
Minnen, ranked No 75, beat Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-3, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round of the Cleveland tournament.
