Citi Open: Vekic into last 16

Donna Vekic won against Mayar Sherif 6-4, 6-1 on Monday night and will face the winner of the match between Chinese lucky loser Xiyu Wang and German Tatjana Maria in the next round

Croat Donna Vekic moved into the last 16 of the Citi Open by winning against Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 6-1 on Monday night.

Vekic, ranked No 86, will play the winner of the match between Chinese lucky loser Xiyu Wang and German Tatjana Maria next.
