China Open: Wei scores first career WTA main draw win
The Chinese woman will play No 13 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia in the next round

Chinese wildcard Sijia Wei won against Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 7-6 (6) to reach the second round of the China Open on Thursday.
This was the first career WTA main draw win for Wei.
Wei, ranked No 140, will play No 13 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia next at the National Tennis Center in Beijing.
