China Open: Starodubtseva makes third round

Ukrainian qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva moved into the third round of the China Open by defeating No 27 seed Katerina Siniakova 6-2, 6-2 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Friday.
Starodubtseva, ranked No 115, will face the winner of the match between American Caroline Dolehide, the No 33 seed, and Armenian Elina Avanesyan next.
The Ukrainian won against German Laura Siegemund (6-4, 7-6 (3)) in the previous round of the Beijing tournament.
