Navarro handed upset loss by Zhang in China Open second round
Shuai Zhang won against Emma Navarro 6-4, 6-2 on Friday and will play the winner of the match between Belgian Greet Minnen and Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 28 seed, in the next round

Chinese wildcard Shuai Zhang advanced to the third round of the China Open by winning against American Emma Navarro, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-2 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Friday.
Zhang, the former world No 2, needed only 76 minutes to complete the win as she broke Navarro five times, averaging 71 percent on second-serve return points (15/21).
Shuai Zhang will face the winner of the match between Belgian Greet Minnen and Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 28 seed, next.
The 35-year-old Chinese defeated American McCartney Kessler (7-6 (5), 7-6 (1)) in the previous round of the Beijing tournament.
