Armenian Elina Avanesyan moved into the second round of the China Open by winning against American lucky loser Emina Bektas 6-2, 7-5 on Wednesday.
Avanesyan, ranked No 47, will face No 33 seed Caroline Dolehide next at the National Tennis Center in Beijing.
