China Open: Andreeva books spot in quarter-finals

Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 17 seed, reached the last 8 of the China Open by beating Pole Magda Linette, the No 31 seed, 6-1, 6-3 at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Wednesday.
Andreeva, ranked No 22, will play the winner of the match between American Amanda Anisimova, the No 34 seed, and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 17-year-old Russian won against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu (6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-1) and edged out Croat Donna Vekic, the No 16 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-4).
Linette, ranked No 45, won against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) and Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
