Chicago Women’s Open: Bronzetti reaches quarter-finals, to meet Baindl next

Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 5 seed, beat American Quinn Gleason 7-6 (2), 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Chicago Women’s Open on Wednesday night.
Bronzetti, ranked No 82, will face Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl next.
The Italian won against Canadian Rebecca Marino (7-6 (4), 6-1) in the previous round. In the round of 32, Quinn Gleason edged out Jodie Burrage (5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
