Wildcard Shelby Rogers won against qualifier Claire Liu 6-1, 6-1 to reach the second round of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Monday night.
Rogers, ranked No 325, will face No 9 seed Veronika Kudermetova next.
