Diana Shnaider advanced to the last 16 of the Charleston Open by winning against No 5 seed Veronika Kudermetova 6-4, 6-3 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Shnaider, ranked No 95, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 12 seed, and Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
In the previous round of the Charleston tournament, Diana Shnaider beat American Alycia Parks (6-4, 6-3).
