Romanian Jaqueline Cristian defeated American Madison Keys, the No 8 seed, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Cristian, ranked No 83, will play the winner of the match between No 10 seed Emma Navarro and qualifier Katie Volynets next.
Ahead of her victory, the Romanian won against American qualifier Sachia Vickery (6-1, 6-4).
