Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the second seed, beat American wildcard Caroline Dolehide 6-3, 7-5 to reach the last eight of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Thursday.
Jabeur, ranked No 5, will play Russian Anna Kalinskaya next.
In the previous round of the Charleston tournament, the Tunisian won against Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (6-3, 6-3).
Dolehide, ranked No 172, defeated German qualifier Sabine Lisicki (6-4, 6-4) and Czech Linda Fruhvirtova (6-2, 5-7, 6-3) earlier in the week.
