American Danielle Collins picked up where she left off in Miami as she made a quick transition to clay with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Paula Badosa of Spain to reach the second round of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Collins, ranked No 22, will face second seed Ons Jabeur next. The 30-year-old won the biggest title of her career on hard courts in Miami on Saturday but despite the surface change, was on top from the start against the former world No 3.
