Russian Anna Blinkova advanced to the second round of the Charleston Open by defeating Hungarian Anna Bondar 7-6 (7), 6-2 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Monday.
Blinkova, ranked No 63, will play top seed Jessica Pegula next.
