Charleston Open 125: Wang makes quarter-finals
Yafan Wang won against Sara Errani 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Japanese Nao Hibino, the No 9 seed, and Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva in the next round
Chinese Yafan Wang, the No 6 seed, won against Italian Sara Errani 6-4, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the Charleston Open 125 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
Wang, ranked No 66, will face the winner of the match between Japanese Nao Hibino, the No 9 seed, and Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva next.
Ahead of her victory, the Chinese beat Japanese lucky loser Mai Hontama (7-6 (6), 6-4).
Errani, ranked No 100, won against Belgian Yanina Wickmayer (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round of the Charleston 125 tournament.
