Japanese Nao Hibino, the No 9 seed, advanced to the second round of the Charleston Open 125 by defeating Harriet Dart 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Tuesday evening.
Hibino, ranked No 80, will face Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva next.
