Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 4 seed, won against Australian Arina Rodionova 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Charleston Open 125 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Tuesday evening.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 60, will face Spanish qualifier Marina Bassols Ribera next.
