Catalonia Open: Davis beats Osorio to set up Cirstea clash in semis

American Lauren Davis, the No 3 seed, reached the semi-finals of the Catalonia Open by beating Colombian Camila Osorio 6-4, 6-3 on Friday.
Davis, ranked No 56, will face Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the second seed, for a place in the final.
In the previous rounds, the American had defeated Austrian Julia Grabher (6-2, 7-6 (4)) and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-2, 2-6, 7-5).
Osorio, ranked No 115, defeated Japanese Moyuka Uchijima (6-2, 6-4) and Spanish wildcard Leyre Romero Gormaz (6-0, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
