Russian Erika Andreeva advanced to the last 16 of the Catalonia Open by edging out Spaniard Rebeka Masarova 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (1) on Tuesday.
Andreeva, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 3 seed, and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova next.
