French lucky loser Selena Janicijevic moved into the last 16 of the Cancun Tennis Open by defeating Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Janicijevic, ranked No 176, will play No 5 seed Varvara Lepchenko next.
