Canberra Open: Ito upsets top seed Diaz to move into final
The seventh seed will play the winner of the match between Chinese Sijia Wei and Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala for the title

Japanese Aoi Ito, the No 7 seed, beat Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the top seed, 6-2, 6-2 to move into the final of the Canberra Open on Friday.
Ito, ranked No 126, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Sijia Wei and Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala next at the Canberra Tennis Centre.
The 20-year-old Japanese won against Russian Maria Timofeeva (6-4, 7-5), Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (6-1, 6-2) and Serb Nina Stojanovic (6-2, 7-6 (6)) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 91, edged out Croat Jana Fett (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)), Japanese qualifier Sara Saito (6-2, 6-4) and Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-3, 6-3).
