Canadian Open: Sabalenka proves too solid for Martic

Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, had the last word against Croat Petra Martic (6-3, 7-6 (5)) on Wednesday in Montreal.

Sabalenka, ranked No 2, will now face Liudmila Samsonova, the No 15 seed, for a spot in the quarter-finals.

In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, Martic, ranked No 35, won against Spanish lucky loser Cristina Bucsa (6-0, 6-4).
