Canadian Open: Rybakina advances to last four
Elena Rybakina edged out Daria Kasatkina 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (8) on Saturday night and will face Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 15 seed, in the next round
Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 3 seed, edged out Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (8) to reach the last 4 of the Canadian Open at Stade IGA in Montreal on Saturday night.

Rybakina, ranked No 4, will play Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 15 seed, next.
The Kazakh beat American Jennifer Brady (6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-3) and American Sloane Stephens (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup, Kasatkina, ranked No 14, won against Belgian Elise Mertens (6-4, 6-2), Anna Blinkova (6-2, 7-5) and Marie Bouzkova (6-3, 6-4).
