Canadian Open: Pegula books spot in quarter-finals
Jessica Pegula won against Jasmine Paolini 6-4, 6-0 on Thursday evening and will play the winner of the match between No 9 seed Marketa Vondrousova and American Coco Gauff, the No 6 seed, in the next round
American Jessica Pegula, the No 4 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Canadian Open by beating Italian Jasmine Paolini 6-4, 6-0 at Stade IGA in Montreal on Thursday evening.
Pegula, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between No 9 seed Marketa Vondrousova and American Coco Gauff, the No 6 seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, the American won against Kazakh lucky loser Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 6-4).
Paolini, ranked No 49, won against Croat Donna Vekic (7-6 (3), 6-2) and American Madison Keys, the No 13 seed (W/O) in the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup.
