Canadian Open: Brady beats Ostapenko in wild three-setter to reach second round
The American will face No 3 seed Elena Rybakina in the next round

American Jennifer Brady, playing in only her third tournament in two years, reached the second round of the Canadian Open by edging out former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in a see-saw three-set battle on Monday.
Brady won the first set in a tiebreaker before being bagelled in the second set and then coming back to win the third in another tiebreaker to complete the 7-6 (7), 0-6, 7-6 (8) in two hours and 31 minutes. The American saved two match points en route to the victory.
Brady will face No 3 seed Elena Rybakina in the second round.
