Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the second seed, won the Cali Open final by defeating Slovak Veronika Erjavec 6-3, 6-3.
Ahead of her victory, Begu, ranked No 102, beat Peruvian wildcard Lucciana Perez Alarcon (6-1, 6-2), Colombian Emiliana Arango (6-2, 6-2), No 8 seed Anca Todoni (7-6 (6), 6-4) and Australian qualifier Tina Nadine Smith (6-1, 6-3).
Erjavec, ranked No 199, beat Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-2), Francesca Jones (7-6 (3), 5-0 ret.), Argentinian Jazmin Ortenzi (6-0, 6-3) and Hungarian Panna Udvardy (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
