Cali Open: Begu moves into quarter-finals
Irina-Camelia Begu won against Emiliana Arango 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Romanian Anca Todoni, the No 8 seed, and Argentinian Solana Sierra in the next round

Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the second seed, reached the last eight of the Cali Open by winning against Colombian Emiliana Arango 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday evening.
Begu, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Anca Todoni, the No 8 seed, and Argentinian Solana Sierra next.
The 34-year-old Romanian defeated Peruvian wildcard Lucciana Perez Alarcon (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round.
In the first round, Arango, ranked No 183, won against Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic (6-3, 4-6, 6-3).
