Budapest Open: Tomova makes quarter-finals

Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova advanced to the quarter-finals of the Budapest Open by edging out Austrian Julia Grabher 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 at Római Tennis Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
Tomova, ranked No 109, will face Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova next.
The Bulgarian defeated Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 3 seed (4-6, 6-0, 6-2) in the previous round.
During the first round, Grabher, ranked No 99, won against Hungarian wildcard Timea Babos (6-3, 6-4).
