Budapest Open: Korpatsch reaches final
Tamara Korpatsch beat Anna Bondar 7-5, 6-4 on Friday afternoon and will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova in the final
German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch won against Hungarian Anna Bondar, the second seed, 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the final of the Budapest Open at Római Tennis Academy on Friday.
Korpatsch, ranked No 118, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova next.
In the previous rounds, the German defeated Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed (2-6, 6-4, 6-4), Montenegrin Danka Kovinic (6-3, 1-6, 7-5) and Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-3, 3-6, 6-0).
Bondar, ranked No 52, beat Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-2, 6-2), Swiss Simona Waltert (5-7, 6-4, 7-5) and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
