WTA Brisbane: Sabalenka sets up all-Belarussian semi-final against Azarenka
The Belarusian defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-1, 6-4 in the quarter-finals on Friday
Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, defeated Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Brisbane Open at the Queensland Tennis Center on Friday.
Sabalenka, ranked No 2, will face countrywoman Victoria Azarenka, the No 8 seed, next.
The Belarusian won against Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-3, 6-0) and Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 15 seed (6-1, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Brisbane tournament, Kasatkina, ranked No 18, won against Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (6-3, 6-4) and Pole Magda Linette, the No 9 seed (6-4, 6-2).

- Linda Noskova beat Mirra Andreeva: 7-5, 6-3
- Elena Rybakina (2) beat Anastasia Potapova (11): 6-1 ret.
- Victoria Azarenka beat Jelena Ostapenko (3): 6-3, 3-6, 7-5
