Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 3 seed, advanced to the second round of the Bogota Open by winning against Russian Maria Timofeeva 6-1, 6-3 at the Country Club Bogota on Tuesday.
Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 50, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva and Italian Sara Errani next.
