Bogota Open: Siegemund advances to last eight
Laura Siegemund won against Francesca Jones 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday and will face top seed Marie Bouzkova in the next round
German Laura Siegemund, the No 7 seed, beat Francesca Jones 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Thursday.
Siegemund, ranked No 89, will face top seed Marie Bouzkova next.
The 36-year-old German won against Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich (7-6 (5), 7-5) in the previous round of the Bogota tournament.
In the previous round of the Bogota tournament, Jones, ranked No 214, won against Colombian wildcard Yuliana Monroy (6-1, 6-2).
