Bogota Open: Rakhimova moves into last 8
Kamilla Rakhimova edged out Eugenie Bouchard 6-0, 6-7 (7), 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Colombian wildcard Emiliana Arango and Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 7 seed, in the next round
Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 4 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Bogota Open by edging out Canadian wildcard Eugenie Bouchard 6-0, 6-7 (7), 6-4 at the Country Club Bogota on Wednesday evening.
Rakhimova, ranked No 90, will play the winner of the match between Colombian wildcard Emiliana Arango and Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Colombia Open, the 21-year-old Russian won against Cypriot Raluka Serban (7-6 (3), 6-3).
Bouchard, ranked No 327, defeated Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round of the Colombia Open.
