Bogota Open: Errani digs deep to make semi-finals

Italian Sara Errani won against Romanian Irina Bara 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Bogota Open at the Country Club Bogota on Friday evening.
Errani, ranked No 117, will face the winner of the match between Colombian Camila Osorio, the No 6 seed, and German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, next.
The 36-year-old Italian defeated Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva (6-2, 7-6 (5)) and edged out Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 3 seed (6-2, 4-6, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Bogota tournament, Bara, ranked No 178, edged out Ukrainian qualifier Katarina Zavatska (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Brazilian Laura Pigossi (3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4).
