Bogota Open: Bara into quarter-finals

Romanian Irina Bara reached the last eight of the Bogota Open by edging out Brazilian Laura Pigossi 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 at the Country Club Bogota on Wednesday evening.
Bara, ranked No 178, will play Italian Sara Errani next.
The Romanian edged out Ukrainian qualifier Katarina Zavatska (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Bogota tournament.
During the first round of the Bogota tournament, Pigossi, ranked No 119, defeated Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-1).
