Italian Lucia Bronzetti edged out Pole Magdalena Frech 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club on Monday.
Bronzetti, ranked No 67, will face the winner of the match between No 7 seed Anastasia Potapova and qualifier Elina Avanesyan next.
