Canadian lucky loser Rebecca Marino advanced to the last 16 of the Birmingham Classic by winning against Chinese qualifier Xiyu Wang 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-3 at Edgbaston Priory Club on Wednesday.
Marino, ranked No 90, will face American qualifier Emina Bektas next.
