Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Berlin Open by defeating Russian Daria Kasatkina 6-1, 6-4 at Rot-Weiss Tennis Club on Thursday evening.
Sabalenka, ranked No 3, will play Russian Anna Kalinskaya next.
Kasatkina, ranked No 14, won against Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3) in the previous round of the Berlin tournament.
