Berlin Open: Kudermetova upsets Sabalenka to reach second round
Veronika Kudermetova edged out third seed Aryna Sabalenka 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 and will play Russian Liudmila Samsonova in the next round

Russian Veronika Kudermetova moved into the second round of the Berlin Open with an upset win over Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka, the No 3 seed, at Rot-Weiss Tennis Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Kudermetova, ranked No 24, won 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in two hours and 11 minutes.
The Russian, who plays Liudmila Samsonova next, reached the singles semi-finals last week in Rosmalen.
