Coco Gauff beat Xinyu Wang 6-0, 6-4 on Thursday and will face Czech Karolina Pliskova, the No 4 seed in the last eight

American Coco Gauff, the No 7 seed, won against Chinese qualifier Xinyu Wang 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Berlin Open at Rot-Weiss Tennis Club on Thursday afternoon.
Gauff, ranked No 13, will play Czech Karolina Pliskova, the No 4 seed, next.
The 18-year-old American beat Ann Li (6-2, 7-6 (2)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Wang, ranked No 76, edged out German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
