Belarusian Iryna Shymanovich reached the last four of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia (WTA 125) by defeating Brazilian Laura Pigossi 6-0, 7-6 (1) on Friday, on clay.
Shymanovich, ranked No 275, will face Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the top seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Belarusian won against lucky loser Dominika Salkova (6-4, 6-4) and Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-2).
Pigossi, ranked No 115, beat Spanish wildcard Leyre Romero Gormaz (6-4, 6-0) and edged out Slovak Rebecca Sramkova, the No 4 seed (7-6 (5), 6-7 (6), 7-6 (10)) in the previous rounds.
