American Ann Li advanced to the last 16 of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia by winning against Spanish wildcard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Li, ranked No 172, will face Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 3 seed, next.
