American Ann Li edged out Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, the second seed, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the final of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia on Saturday afternoon.
Li, ranked No 172, will play Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the top seed, next.
The American won against Spanish wildcard Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales (6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1), Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 3 seed (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Elvina Kalieva (6-2, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Bouzas Maneiro, ranked No 87, defeated Italian qualifier Nuria Brancaccio (7-6 (3), 6-4), Slovenian Polona Hercog (6-1, 6-2) and No 7 seed Marina Bassols Ribera (5-7, 6-3, 6-2).
