Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the second seed, moved into the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open by winning against Colombian wildcard María Paulina Pérez García 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
Schmiedlova, ranked No 70, will play the winner of the match between Emiliana Arango and wildcard Yuliana Monroy next.
