Australian Daria Saville moved into the last 8 of the Barranquilla Open after German wildcard Sabine Lisicki withdrew before the match on Wednesday night.
Saville, ranked No 211, will play German Tatjana Maria, the top seed, next.
The Australian benefited from the abandonment of German qualifier Jasmin Jebawy (4-2) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Lisicki, ranked No 395, won against Swiss Simona Waltert, the No 6 seed (7-5, 7-6 (5)).
