Australian Daria Saville reached the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open when German qualifier Jasmin Jebawy retired on Tuesday evening.
Saville, ranked No 211, led 4-2 when Jasmin Jebawy pulled out of their round of 32 match.
The Australian will play German wildcard Sabine Lisicki next, who eliminated sixth seed Simona Waltert for her spot in the round of 16.
