Barranquilla Open: Podoroska advances to quarters
The Argentine will face Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze in the next round

Argentine Nadia Podoroska, the fourth seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Barranquilla Open when Chinese Xinyu Gao retired on Wednesday.
Podoroska, ranked No 88, led 6-1, 2-0 when Gao, ranked No 224, pulled out of the first round match.
The Argentinian will play Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze next. She defeated Chinese Xiaodi You (6-2, 6-2) ahead of her w.in today
In the previous round, the Chinese edged out Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (2-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5).
