Barranquilla Open: Pigossi eases through to last 16

Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 8 seed, beat Frenchwoman Amandine Hesse 6-2, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Barranquilla Open on Tuesday evening.
The match was a one-sided affair, with Pigossi breaking Hesse’s serve a total of seven times in the one hour 16 minute clash.
Pigossi, ranked No 135, will face the winner of the match between American Katrina Scott and Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic next.
